Applied Electromagnetics

We focus on cutting-edge research and development in Medical Electromagnetic (EM) Imaging & Sensing, and Microwave Communication Systems. Our projects span from fundamental to translational research in collaboration with industry and clinical partners. These include:
- Electromagnetic MedTech: We develop non-invasive, safe, and accurate diagnostic systems by integrating advanced electromagnetic hardware with intelligent data analysis. Our work includes designing near-field antennas and probes, building realistic bio-models for validation, and creating processing techniques to extract clinical insights. Using physics-guided AI, we improve diagnostic accuracy and bridge the gap between theory and medical practice.
- Communication and Sensing Systems: We advance microwave and millimetre-wave technologies for next-gen communication and sensing. Our research includes passive radar for covert detection, multi-mode beamforming for adaptive networks, and novel antenna materials for lightweight, cost-effective designs. We also engineer reconfigurable microwave devices for 5G/6G, satellite, and defence applications, delivering scalable, high-performance solutions for future wireless and radar systems.
