The 2023 EECS Innovation Showcase will take place on Thursday 2 November. 

The Innovation Showcase is an opportunity for selected students in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science to showcase their end of year projects to industry sponsors, industry guests, VIPs, the wider UQ community and fellow students.

Not only does this event allow students to celebrate the successful completion of projects months in the making, it also gives students the opportunity to interact with industry and make valuable contacts.

Since 2012, the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science has hosted this showcase which has exhibited student projects from the School's key discipline areas of electrical and software engineering, computer science, and interaction design created through our studio and project-based capstone courses, along with outstanding thesis projects.

Student benefits include:

  • Networking: The Showcase provides an ideal opportunity for students to network and speak directly with Industry Sponsors.
  • Industry Sponsors: Have the opportunity to pitch your project to industry partners who can give you valuable feedback on your project.
  • Prize: Submit your project and gain the opportunity to win $1000 in prize money.

Who is eligible

  • EECS students who have a end of year project that is able to be presented.
  • Individual projects and group projects welcome.

Agenda

  • 4.00pm – Arrivals
  • 4.15pm – Nibbles and drinks served
  • 4.15 to 5.30pm – Judging
  • 5.30 to 5.50pm – Results collated and tallied
  • 6.00 to 6.20pm – Results announced and official photographs of prize winners and sponsor representatives
  • 6.30pm to 7.00pm – Drinks and mingling
