International Pulsed Power workshop
Venue
Abstract
Pulsed Power Technology refers to generating high power pulses with narrow pulse width to deliver a huge amount of energy over a short period of time. Pulsed power is an exciting, emerging technology, and this state-of-the-art facility will enable Australian researchers to explore nanosecond pulsed power excitation in a variety of industrial and bioelectrics applications, including water treatment, mining, food processing and bio-energy.
Workshop Program
We have invited national and international experts who will talk about their experiences and projects in this field. The topics of the keynote presentations are as below:
Day 1- Keynote Presentations
Topic 1: Pulsed Power Technology and its challenges (opening session).
Topic 2: Pulsed Power Technology and Related Applications at Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT).
Topic 3: Material Processing by Pulsed Electron Beams for Energy Research and Industrial Applications.
Topic 4: Primary Impacts of Pulsed Electric Fields on Cells.
Topic 5: Large Scale PEF Treatment System for Pasteurization of Protein-rich Liquid Foods.
Topic 6: Drug/gene delivery by pulsed power: From pulse electric fields (PEFs) to pulse ultrasound.
Topic 7: Recycling and Extraction with Pulsed Power: Challenges and Prospects.
Topic 8: ‘Bioactive’ Breastmilk Pasteurised By Nanosecond Pulsed Electric Field.
Day 2 - Panel Discussion
UQ academics and industry partners will sit together to discuss the technical issues, exchange views, propose new collaborative pilot projects and plan for future collaboration and joint research funds.
This panel will discuss Pulsed Power Technology, Applications and Monitoring Systems.
This workshop will be a great opportunity for all Australian researchers in the field to initiate an Australian Pulsed Power Consortium.
Download the Flyer and Brochure for more information on this two-day workshop.
