Researcher biography

Dr. Thilina Halloluwa is a Teaching-Focused Lecturer in the Human-Centred Computing discipline at the University of Queensland. As a SEDA-accredited educator, he brings over 15 years of academic and industry experience across teaching, research, and digital transformation.

His research lies at the intersection of education, software engineering, and well-being, with a with a strong focus on designing AI-driven technologies that are human-centred. He is passionate about creating tools and systems that support learning, promote health and self-care, and improve real-world outcomes for diverse users.

Thilina holds a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction from Queensland University of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology.

Before joining UQ, he served as a Lecturer at the University of Sydney (2023) and as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Colombo (2013–2023), where he led large-scale education programs and applied research initiatives.
