Running from 5–7 pm, this event includes food and drinks, making it the perfect opportunity to unwind while exploring the cutting-edge projects from emerging innovators.

Provoking project showcases

Running now for 14 years, the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science has hosted this annual showcase, highlighting projects across key fields: electrical and software engineering, computer science, and interaction design.

Selected students will present their final-year projects with live demonstrations and interactive sessions. This is your chance to experience exceptional new ideas firsthand.

Network and connect

More than just a celebration of projects months in the making, this event is an opportunity to engage with fresh ideas and innovative solutions coming out of the University of Queensland.

Attendees will gain early access to highly skilled graduates eager to make their mark in the industry. The showcase is an ideal space for students, attendees, and industry professionals to network and build valuable connections.

Recognising excellence with industry awards

With an exciting range of award categories (to be announced), we are delighted to welcome special industry judges who will present awards and prizes to outstanding student projects.

Students will have the chance to pitch their ideas directly to all industry representatives in attendance and receive invaluable feedback.

About Innovation Showcase

Fostering industry collaboration and showcasing the tremendous talents of EECS students.

The Innovation Showcase is an opportunity for Students in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science to showcase their end of year projects to industry sponsors, industry guests, VIPs, the wider UQ community and fellow students.

Not only does this event allow students to celebrate the successful completion of projects months in the making, it also gives students the opportunity to interact with industry and make valuable contacts.

Since 2012, the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science has hosted this showcase which has exhibited student projects from the key disciplines of electrical engineering, information technology and multimedia design; with premier examples of work from the schools' studio and project courses.

Student benefits include:

  • Networking: The Showcase provides an ideal opportunity for students to network and speak directly with Industry Sponsors.
  • Industry Sponsors: Have the opportunity to pitch your project to industry partners who can give you valuable feedback on your project.

Who is eligible

  • EECS students who have an end of year project that is able to be presented.
