Imaging, Sensing and Biomedical Engineering

The Imaging, Sensing and Biomedical Engineering discipline conducts world-leading research that builds on core disciplinary skills across optics, electromagnetics, biomedical engineering and associated clinical & biomedical sciences, artificial intelligence, engineering signals and image processing and computer science.

Our work spans from fundamental science through to translatory engineering solutions in industrial and biomedical applications. We have the ultimate goal of providing new scientific insights that advance our knowledge and understanding of these disciplinary fields; and developing and applying technologies which solve real-world problems in clinical & healthcare applications and industrial engineering.

We also have critical impacts on broader Australian and International society through training the next generation of engineers and researchers. We lead and contribute to teaching degree programs across electrical engineering, biomedical engineering and computer engineering; and the supervision of research higher degree students at the M.Phil and PhD Levels.
