Applied Electromagnetics

We focus on cutting-edge research and development in Medical Electromagnetic (EM) Imaging & Sensing, and Microwave Communication Systems. Our projects span from fundamental to translational research in collaboration with industry and clinical partners. These include:
- Our research focuses on developing non-invasive, safe, and accurate diagnostic technologies that combine advanced electromagnetic (EM) systems with intelligent data analysis. We design high-performance antennas and probes for precise imaging, create realistic bio-models and phantoms for validation, and develop sophisticated bio-signal processing techniques to extract meaningful clinical insights. By integrating physics-guided AI, we enhance diagnostic accuracy and reliability, bridging the gap between theoretical models and real-world medical applications.
- Our research develops advanced microwave and millimetre-wave technologies to power next-generation communication and sensing platforms. We design passive radar systems for covert, energy-efficient detection; create multi-mode beamforming solutions for adaptive and high-capacity networks; and explore innovative antenna materials and manufacturing techniques for lightweight, cost-effective designs. In addition, we engineer adaptive microwave devices that enable dynamic reconfiguration for 5G/6G, satellite communications, and defense applications. These innovations deliver robust, scalable solutions for future wireless and radar systems.
