Since 2012, the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science has been hosting its annual Innovation Showcase event, which highlights a range of premier end-of-year and capstone student projects.
Students who took part in the event were eligible to win $1,000 AUD in prize money, generously sponsored by various industry organisations including: The Australian Power Institute (API), E2EFi Platforms, Emesent, Boeing, Cochlear, Data#3, Inspect Real Estate, RGB Assurance, Rinstrum, Shorthand, GridQube, L3Harris Technologies, .au Domain Administration, Optiver, and UQ Ventures.
On the evening of Thursday 2 November, over 90 students (across 48 projects) were able to showcase their end-of-year projects to industry sponsors and guests, VIPs and the wider UQ community. This year, 16 industry-sponsored prizes were awarded to outstanding projects in a range of categories including avionics, cyber security, user experience design, and extended reality. Head of School, Professor Michael Brünig gave an address and awarded the prizes at the conclusion of the event.
More information about the nominated projects and photos of the event can be found on the event website.
